A World Without Volunteers

A world without volunteers, Will only produce tears, With the sum of all our fears, Seeing more chased by bears, Or constantly running up and down stairs, In the absence of volunteers, With few now living out their allotted years. A world without volunteers, Would bring no more world cups, Or exciting sporting match ups, With even Billionaires unable to pay for the cleans ups. If we still want a world of volunteers, We should put out more chairs, For all our volunteers, Who keep us in cheers.

"A world without volunteers." I can't imagine such a place. We need to be there for each other. Lift one another up. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my heart. This is so beautifully written and presented. ~ Brandy

Thank you brandy. One of our past MP'S named Maralyn Waring did a paper on volunteers and economies and how the international monetary system does not recognise fully their importance. It went to united nations. I was projects manager, then Vice- President and then President of our local lions Club for a term, and adults leader scouts, plus run a metal re-cycling program for our local church to name but a few of my volunteer episodes. It seems just a few families are keeping tradition alive. Fingers crossed more volunteers are waiting in the wings. Best regards David in NZ
