A World Full of Hate

Our communities seem to have changed today; we wonder why things have turned this way and we hold our breath and wait as our world of late is full of hate. Where’s the love that once was our fate; we worked hard to cultivate, and yet looking ‘round leads us to say our communities seem to have changed today.

Thank you, Nette, I appreciate it. Reading your comment brought to mind a song from the mid '60s by Jackie DeShannon "What the World Needs Now is Love" I think it is very fitting for these times. John

Good questions that I'm sure depending on who you ask will have different answers. It is sad the state of things lately but my feeling is it has been coming on for quite some time. I vote to bring back the good old days. :) Nicely done John

Thanks, Chris, I appreciate your thoughts and I agree, it's been coming for a long time. I fear we will never be able to reverse this trend. I second your vote to return to the good old days. John

This poem reminds me of one I wrote, called "Love" I should post one day. Our world is filled with so much negativity, yet- there are many positive people and moments as well. Surrounding us. I am thankful for this. Blessings truly are everywhere, if we truly look. Thank you for being here and for being You. Keep smiling my dear friend, you are a positive moment. :) Brandy

Thank you for the sweet comment, Brandy, I was originally going to write one having "love" be the main word but the last few days my muse has been a bit negative. Your friendship is truly a blessing for me. Thank you. John

I agree that it is so sad, how things have changed and so much hate continues to churn. All we can do is love the best we can. I like how you created this poem :)

Thank you for your thoughts, Heidi, I sometimes worry that our society is beyond the point of no return. Love and respect seem to be a distant memory. But a few of us still embrace the love and hope for the best. Sending love to you my friend. John

Sad but so true John, so many want to inflict their beliefs and ways on others, it seems all respect for others and indeed life has fallen by the wayside. Love the layout. Tom.
