A World Away

She sits and makes all the decisions, Not listening to those that care the most. I bet if he told her, it still wouldn’t matter. He was her world, At one time. She wants me to shut up, And leave her alone to do what she wants. She doesn’t see the consequences Of her world, But I do. A tear glides down my cheek In frustration and anguish at her stupidity. Letting everything she was seep into a stranger’s world, In a moment. I wish I could shake her out of this Self-mutilating state of infectious sinful lies That she trusts more than her friends, Alone in a world, By herself. She was the most beautiful flower, Until a man ripped her out of the ground And made her feel unwanted in A lonely world, He made.
