A Woman's World

Expectancy blooming
For the joy to behold
The journey of women
From the young to the old
Learning in sequence and
Repeating in rhyme
The life of a woman
Is a tale old as time

To nurture and grow
A new generation
To weather and sow
Controlled irrigation
To mend and repair
All that, that is broken
To learn and to teach
All that, that is spoken

From a household of chores
She can surely break free
As long as her follies
Are completed by tea
She can go out to work
And earn a small wage
Maintaining appearance
For life on a stage

She must build a career
Whilst bearing a child
Securing a homestead
Adventure the wild
Develop the future
And learn from the past
The dreams of a woman
Are not meant to last

You can have what you want
But it comes at a price
You must wear many hats
Thats my only advice
You cannot rely on
Your looks and beguile
You'll lose all your fashion
And go out of style

Prepare for conversion
The need to divert
From a wilting wallflower
To an outrageous flirt
A counselling voice
With a sense of direction
Demanding the charge of
Much introspection
