A Woman's Work
A WOMAN'S WORK
There's so much housework to be done,
Vacuum ,dust and sweeping the floors,
Washing the sheets, making the beds,
Do the ironing and other chores
.
Then I spy a mop and bucket
Leaning against the laundry wall,
Just waiting there for me to use,
To mop the floorboards in the hall.
Before I start I'll have coffee,
And a nice slice of cake (or two),
I'll need to build up energy
For this housework that I must do.
It's hot today for all these jobs,
Motivation's lagging behind.
Maybe chocolate could perk me up,
It's said to be good for the mind.
Chocolate's done its magic trick
Now I'll hang washing out to dry.
Lunch will be a healthy salad,
With a large slice of apple pie.
After lunch I'll need a short nap,
Knowing one jobs out of the way.
A woman's work is never done,
This saying I'?ve proved true today.
Now I've brought the washing inside,
Folded sheets and put them away.
There's still ironing for me to do,
But tomorrow's another day.
The mop and bucket haven't moved
Waiting for me to mop that floor.
It can wait for some other time,
Cooking dinner is my next chore.
Evening meal and clean up's over,
Now I can find free time for me.
To relax after a day's work,
Eat more chocolate and watch TV.
