A Woman's Voice
Within the years of emptiness I still hear your voice.
It fills my heart with kindness and love.
No one else ever gave me a choice.
I swear it's all because of him above.
I hear the sweetness when she sings.
Her voice soothes my pain but she's not you.
The story of the truth that rings.
Only leaves me sad and blue.
It can be written, it can be spoken.
The message is the same.
It just reminds me my heart is broken.
And that I'm lost in the game.
I cannot find a reason why.
The years have been unkind.
Waiting's all I've left to try.
To help me ease my mind.
A woman's voice can sound so sweet.
And tenderly caress you.
But also leave you in defeat.
And not knowing what to do.
