A Wolf At the Door
My brothers and sisters we’ve got a wolf at our door.
It’s here to take all we have and even a little more.
It’s got sharp claws, big teeth and keen eyes.
It’s going to cause chaos and try to bring about our demise.
Make no mistake, this darkness will try to envelop us all.
It wears a coat of many colors and it’s here to make us fall.
We need to cast aside our differences and together unite.
We need to all understand and stop this senseless fight.
Let’s all move forward and make a fresh new start.
We need to start showing some love and it needs to come from the heart.
Why must we be labeled with descriptions that are racially slurred?
Our hearts and minds have become clouded and our vision has been blurred.
Silence can be golden but there are words we need to hear.
We all need to breathe and learn to control our fear.
There is only one you and there is only one me.
But together we can become strong and help others to see.
