A Wish and a Prayer
A wish and a prayer
17/05/2018
Quietly I comtemplate what could have been,
And realise I really am living the dream.
I don’t dwell on the wreckage, the carnage of my past,
I reflect I digest and it allows my angst to pass.
Strength is gained from what doesn’t kill you,
Like a Phoenix you emerge, clean, bright and new.
With new perspective and zest grab life’s Bull,
By the horns with might, living life to the full.
I plodded along doing what I thought was my best,
Without ever really putting myself to the test.
And then by a bolt of lighting I’m struck,
With a beautiful message and a change of luck.
An Angel from my past felt my pain from afar,
So she sent out a prayer and wished on a star.
Her prayer was answered and my dreams came true,
For I’ve never been happier since I found you.
