A Wise Mind Walks Alone
The wise withdraw, as stars depart—
When Morning lifts her veil—
They keep their counsel with the dusk,
Beyond the common pale.
The crowd may chatter, loud and bright,
Of trifles they have known—
But Thought, a secret pilgrim, moves
Where only Dreams have flown.
No lantern need their patient step,
No compass but the soul—
For Solitude’s a temple door,
And Silence, makes them whole.
So if you find no foot beside,
Upon the starlit stone—
Rejoice, for Wisdom’s quiet path
Is best when walked—alone.
