A Winter's Tale
A Winter's Tale
Winter revealed through my empty brandy glass
as frozen is the blue lake with the jumping bass
No singing birds fluttering across my jogging path
as nature in splendid chill vents it's wrath
The valley rests hibernating creatures safe from cold
as winter wraps man and beast in it's icy fold
Rare warmer days send joyous cheers of delight
as beauty and splendor mask the chill of night
Frozen sky above covers glaring white down below
as the wind flies coldly past singing as it blows
Moon casting dashing light upon cold barren ground
as spring hides in deep shadows waiting to be found
Season of freezing wind , rain , shining snow mourn
as time forms another nature show about to be born
Spring suddenly leaping from shadows dark and deep
as a man awakening from a long hard night's sleep...
