A Winter's Song
Tonight,.. stars dangle from the trees,
honed thistle sharp, while years unfold
and winter's muse, has pierced the cold.
A song is stirred within the breeze,
sad words like snowflakes in the air,
that drift through years of old despair
Although our summer had to leave,
forgotten shadows of requite
embrace the hallows of the night
Forever words, were once conceived,
still tangible, are brought to light
in dreams that could not be with you
~
Although our time can't come again,
the tears still fall, ..to old refrains.
Tonight,.. stars dangle from the trees.
Reminders of another time
of summers when the world was mine
Forever' words, were once conceived,
but, youth was fragile like the leaves.
I view the stars from yesterday
New seasons came, and tore us free.
What matters now, are memories.
When winter comes, please... think of me.
