A Winters' Morning

A winters’ morning A cold frosty morning, the tired moon is yawning, The sun, barely just glows, Winter is calling, snowflakes are falling, Everywhere covered by snows, Inside those wool mittens, fingers frostbitten, Chilblains and little red nose, North wind is whipping, shoes keep on slipping, On puddles now solid and froze, The kids are all coughing, skipping and hopping, Trying to keep themselves warm, Water drip dropping, freezing then stopping, Icicles starting to form, Lightening is flashing, the thunder is crashing, Start of a seasonal storm, Branches are thrashing, bending and snapping, A freezing cold, wintery morn.

What a delightful poem Robert, I love the wintery imagery and also the use of internal rhyme:-) hugs Jan xx
