The winter storm had gathered strength
And Its fury was felt through its breadth and length
As snowflakes flew the streets turned white
The city became a ghostly sight
They blamed it all on nature's wrath
As snowplows tried to clear clogged paths
And people stuck inside their cars
Thanked their rescuers and lucky stars
Icicles, like frozen spears, hung from window sills
And clung to trees on snowy hills
As into winter's deep freeze we plunged
