A Weeping Willow Mourns

Stardust clusters scattered over seas
Moonlight caressing everything in sight
Balmy breeze eager to appease
Droplight for love by candlelight

Broken hearts swooning languorous lament
Until dawn ushers sweet quietude
As weeping willow, trusty confidante
Mourns infinite tears of solitude

Troubled emotions and bruised veneers
Park bench beckons all sonneteers

Very well done, Line - love the mournful atmosphere, and you pull off the restrictive format well, without the reader noticing. Good luck in the contest.

I am really loving the ones on the willow tree. I think it will be the most popular of the themes. YOu did quite well with it, making it nostalgic and also mournful. I really love the ending line, making it for all sonneteers!

Of course, Andrea. Weeping willows are beautifully sad just to look at... crying all the time. Thank you so much for your visit.
