A Wedding In Heaven

A WEDDING IN HEAVEN “I’ll give my girl in marriage to a godly man some day, And I’ll conduct the wedding—“ for it I oft would pray. God had a different wedding he wanted her to see, So He took her to heaven to live eternally. ‘Twas there she met the Bridegroom of all who have believed, The one she fully trusted, the one she had received. Though now I am confused some and may just wonder why, God had a better wedding for my daughter in the sky. The aisle she walked was different, and unexpected, too, A tragedy there took her to her home up in the blue. And though I could be bitter and though I could complain, I know where she’s now walking and I’ll see her again. I’ll preach a different wedding than for what I did pray, I’ll preach of that great wedding where she has gone to stay. Her life so pure, devoted, to Jesus here below Will be the testimony that with them I can show. I’ll tell about that dear time when she said to Christ, “I do,” And how she lived for Jesus for others here to view. A wedding now in heaven for my daughter, and some day A wedding there for me, too, when I go there to stay. A wedding there for YOU friend, if you will just today Say your “I do” to Jesus like my daughter did one day.
