A Wedding Day Poem For My Daughter

The time has passed so quickly by,
where have all of the years flown to-
since hearing your welcomed first cry,
then being the first to hold you?

As I look back on childhood days,
and also to your teenage years-
I recall sharing in many ways,
our thoughts, ambitions, joys and tears.

But now it's time to let you go,
as soon now you will be a bride-
and this time when you leave I know,
you'll have a husband at your side.

and so on this your day of days,
I wish you joy and happiness-
and pray God be with you always,
and your marriage forever bless.

Thank you Jan for the read and reply. I inadvertently failed to post the footnote @2004, that is now edited in.
