A Wastebasket Holds the Truth

A wastebasket holds the truth
An empty bottle of water
Drowns itself beside a pale pink layer
Of a vacant foundation
I peer over the side,
Hoping to uncover something
More than desertedness
But I simply see myself
Blank and bare
