A Wandered Mind

Sprawled about the blanket spread Minding the business of her own Her mind led, far astray By her thoughts, she is overthrown. She dreams of a heaven Beyond her meagre skill Far-fetched from cold reality Though reached from power of will. For her it appears a lifetime But to us a patient while Stationed soundly at my feet Though her head a ’wandered mile. And itched along her rested neck My hand so ever tender Her head arose, so much confused And query from my brain did render.
