A Voice Is Missing
A VOICE IS MISSING
They often sang together and how our folks rejoiced!
For we had felt God’s presence as each one heard their voice.
But now one voice is missing, and we’ll hear it no more
Until the bright reunion up there on heaven’s shore.
We’ve lost a man who labored; we’ve lost a man who loved
His Savior, true and precious, who lived in heaven above.
He spent his life in giving with each deed and each word--
No selfishness in giving; no criticism heard.
His final fleeting moments were spent out working there
In his old, favorite garden, as birds’ songs filled the air.
As he worked there and listened to their bright serenade,
God said, “It’s time to take you to the home I have made.”
So now a voice is missing--a friend so kind and true--
His singing now more precious than birds up in the blue..
And all now left behind him can look up to this man
And say, “There’s one who followed the Master’s holy plan!”
Yes, Larry, I will miss you, you were a special friend,
But I know you have gone to where singing never ends.
And though your voice is missing, I’m glad that we can say
Some day in heaven’s city with you we’ll sing some day.
Written in memory of Larry Fowler
