A Visitor In My Greenhouse

I went into the greenhouse to water the plants and flowers It is my little haven I could stay there for hours and hours The watering can was heavy with the precious rain It has been very sunny so I was watering the plants again. I watered the beans and peas, the tomato plants growing tall I refilled the watering can; there wasn’t enough to do them all Moved on to water the melons and the flowering courgette When underneath the foliage something moved when it got wet A black and brown toad leap up at me; I thought it was a dream I dropped the watering can with fright and gave a little scream Think the toad was pretty shocked at his impromptu shower So I’ve left him to and hop back and hide under a gerbera flower Jan Allison 23rd June 2014

Sounds like the toad has found quite a home in your green house. I'm sure the toad will see no threat in you and soon you two will be the best of friends. Maybe he'll be like that toad that sang and danced in the cartoons, or was that a frog. I enjoyed tour poem, Jan.... Robert.

I've never seen one in the greenhouse Casarah but the humidity must suit him and I have to admit he is so cute after i got over the initial shock. I look out for him now and stay and watch him. My mobile phone ring tone is of a frog croaking so it will remind me of my little greenhouse friend... just need someone to call it now. Hugs Jan xxxx

Three days later Tim he is still there, but I no longer scream when i see him just bend down to see how beautiful his colouration is and how he blends in with the foliage and soil. Hugs Jan xxx
