A Violent Broom

Blinking red eyes
She clears her path
Fog frightened fears
Her screaming laugh

Grey haired with hat
White face of doom
Hunch-backed atop
A violent broom

She rides the backs
Of those asleep
And when they wake
They cannot speak

She came to me
And then she left
Returned again
And took my breath
