A Truer Friend

I use to watch,
Your work from afar.
In a beautiful sunset,
A new fallen snow,
The touch of a child.

I listened on Sunday's
To your word
How I long to have you
Truly in my heart.

It was that day
I saw you
Shining from heaven.
The day you took
My dad away.

I always thought
I die with him
But you held my hand
You healed my broken heart.

Now I lean on you.
You carry me through
A truer Friend
I never knew.
