A TRUE TALE

When Father-in-law Morden was recalled by his maker,
Family went and visited the undertaker.
Fluffy clouds drifted by late in the month of August,
Summer weather remained pleasant and robust.,
creating a perfect summer day.
The funeral director greeted us with more to say.
We were assailed with more options and cost galore,
prepayments were made, but he wanted more.
Widow Smith stood firm: all expenses were prepaid.
The morticians ploy became pervasive and staid.
With fists clenched, widow was no longer amiable:
“ Morden wanted the cheapest dam thing available!”
Instantly, we four were enveloped, shaken and more
by a blinding burst of lightening and deafening roar. No one had doubt that Morden had spoken!
Nothing else was said, we left by a door left open.
The weather was still bright and just right.
No storm clouds had ever been in sight.
