Listen to poem:

A Trip To the Store Before Christmas

A Trip to the Store Before Christmas
David J Walker

Eggs and lemons
She said

If you expect the
Lemon bread only made
At Christmas

Glazed with a touch of
Heaven

Moist and warm from
The oven

And my mouth watered until
I near drown in visions of

Lemon bread
Dancing in my head

And I’m out
The door

To the Store
For Eggs and Lemons
