A Tribute To Glenn Frey

Your words and songs they
touched our souls.
In disbelief, sad news unfolds.

In intensive care you fought the
fight!
On this sad night you lost your life!

Your lying eyes will play
forever.
You Being here, would be much
better.

Band members are missing you.
Adoring fans they feel it to!

Thank you for giving us one
last show. In Buffalo you played
your best Rock and Roll.

At the Sad Cafe we will go and see.
Why fortunes smile on some and
lets the rest go free.

Tequila Sunrises will guide
your way. Your cherished
songs will play and play.

I wish you well my dear old friend.
This world will never be the same...

Michael Tor

Dedicated to Glenn Frey Eagles Band founder.
"Wonder why fortunes smile on some and lets the rest go
free." Is taken from lyrics of Sad Cafe Song off the Long
Run album. I am forever grateful to Elena and my brother
Gus for getting me the tickets to their last to last concert
in Buffalo NY. They played one more together in Toronto.
Toronto was their last with Glenn alive. Long live Glenn Frey.....

In Buffalo, wow. I was born there. Sad things going on in the world especially when life goes on and all that you knew is gone.

Kathy I know how you feel. You were born in Buffalo? My favorite Football team. I lived in Rochester NY most of my life. Use to go to Buffalo all the time. Now I live in Dannemora NY where the inmates escaped. It is sad when the things we loved are gone the memories we still have. I hope you are well in spirit I know these are difficult times but with Gods help I pray we shall overcome. Thanks for your visit Kathy, I will check your latest poetry. Hugs...

If heaven doesn't have the Eagles...we will all be pretty blue. Well, as a great big Eagles fan, you knew I'd be by. Seems we are writing these tributes weekly now. Hard to think of Glenn Frey not somewhere on Earth writing his songs. I'm so envious you got to see them all play! Thank you for this poem Michael!

This is really nice, Michael. I did not know anything about this group . I only remember them from the 70's when I listened to so many of their wonderful songs. Lying eyes and Hotel California my favorites.

They are my favorite. Don Henley who is also a solo artist his Cass County album is the best selling album this year. I use to play drums for a band and I just loved playing Hotel California among their many many hits from Hotel California album, to The Long Run, etc. So much talent in that group. Glenn Frey had a solo career when they split up. Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmidt from Poco had also successful careers. Glenn was a wonderful human being he would have breakfast and invite his fans to sit with him. The good die young Andrea he was 67 or 68 when he died due to complications caused by his arthritis medication he was taking that interfered with the pneumonia he was having.

This is a sad story, laid out well and described with feelings written from the heart, and edited by the soul. The words you used to make your feelings come alive are an eloquent tribute to Glenn Frey the beloved founder of the Eagles Band. May his music live forever! Emile.

Thank you Emile for your kind words. We lost a wonderful man as a human being, he would invite his fans to sit with him if he was out at a restaurant, he was a true person, not allowing his fame to interfere with the person he was, a man with class and appreciation for his fellow man.
