A Tree's Prayer

Last winter was very cold and long
Relentless storms cruel and strong
My small branches from the winds were lost
A large limb was broken by ice and frost
But now at last there are warmer days
The buds on my branches create a green haze
So I lift my limbs to the golden sun
And thank the heavens that Spring has begun
