A Traditional Holiday Greeting

Sparkling a tree
Holiday decorated for all to see
Draped in colorful lights
Shining powerful and bright
Showing a path that is right
Celebrating indoors being a wilderness winter candle
Festive next to empty stockings lining the mantle
Waiting for someone to arrive
Dropping off gifts riding a sleigh in the sky
Proving believing in faith is no lie
A hypocrite may say this does not happen
Claiming too much beer came from the tapping
Disregarding happy thoughts and glittery wrappings
For this birthday was never a fake
Proclaiming a miracle when the world starts to awake
Reminding us this child was needed when civilization was at stake
As part of the once-a-year deal
Friends and love ones gather for a turkey and ham meal
Leaving all a joyous feel
Dessert concludes featuring cookies and candy
While adults find room to sip some brandy
Creating a setting that is cheerful and dandy
Ending this special day
Where peace had its way
