A Toddler In My Arms

When I sang your favorite song, Your faint smile said, “I want to go home now” I told you it won't be long, Then I sang again to assure you somehow. Dimness in you eyes.the harried doctor Trying to cast away his doubt. Unreal, hazy, a dreamlike stupor, To find myself I had to shout When I sang your favorite song You slept, I knew you were home now I hugged you tight, and for so long I kept humming, kissed you on the brow.
