A Toast

If you knew my pain
And you felt the rain
You would be long gone
You would go insane

But I am still here today
This feeling won't go away
I am stuck here
Until the end of may

I take small steps
I move so slow
I still picture you
I can't let go

The longer time goes by
The more I ache
I can't forget you
What will it take?

You laugh
You cry
You live
You die

I guess I am all I have
Is to experience four
But I have felt like that
Ever since you walked out the door

Your memory
Still haunts my embrace
I miss those eyes
I miss that face

You made me smile
And I would never lie
I loved you
And you left why?

You say you loved him all along
It's the words that hurt the most
Upon your deceit and lies
I declare a toast

And I declare a toast to you. Your words are haunting, to anyone who has experienced heartbreak. Sorry, my friend, if this has happened. You captured these feelings lucidly. Very nice read.
