A Thriving Soul

to surrender
to a desire
and endure
it's blazing fire
              to follow passions
              where they may lead
              despite repercussions
              and only heed
the call of my spirit
and allow myself to
hear only it
loud, clear and true
              to indulge a fantasy
              fight to make it real
              though it may be risky
              to obey what I feel
that's the only way I can live
if I want more than to just survive
this is the only way to give
my soul a chance to thrive
