A Thousand Times

A THOUSAND TIMES

A thousand times I have tried
To hold you firm by my side,
But a thousand times I have failed,
To keep you for you have always found her.

A thousand times I have wondered,
Why you have chosen her over me,
But a thousand times I have given up,
For no answer has come to my mind.

A thousand times I have recalled,
Times when we cherished each other,
Though very few to hold on,
I remember them without fail.

And a thousand times I have cried,
For those feelings I had with you to vanish,
Knowing how much I have tried,
Scared of losing myself I has I try.

For the first time I have won,
Carrying on my life like you’re no more,
Like wind that was yesterday,
I have gotten over you.

But now you come back,
After the thousand days of my begging
And yet you say you’re sorry,
But my heart can’t carry you back,
For the blank space is already taken.
