A Thousand Forevers

If a thousand forevers
With you I could spend
I'd feel cheated out
When they came to an end

I'd walk broken glass
Or across scorching sand
For one minute more
Of holding your hand

I'd give all I own
For just one more kiss
The warmth of your lips
Is perpetual bliss

To go forth without you
Would surely be hell
My soul waiting imprisoned
Until again you I held

So let's make what we can
In the time that we share
Cause our thousand forevers
Are started right here

Compelling rhymes and quatrains. I enjoyed this dreamy poem. JH
