A Thing of Beauty

I looked upon a Christmas tree
It was a thing of beauty
To take it home for all to see
I gladly did my duty…
With shinny balls
We decked the halls
Gifts stacked around
Upon the ground…
Bright angel on the top was hung
And with a garland neatly strung.

I looked upon my Christmas tree
It was a thing of beauty!
With lots of lights all shining bright
The house was oh so pretty
When friends all ‘round
And party bound
Be of good cheer
And never fear
Good tidings and good cheer to come
Please, just one more… a cup of rum!

Boy oh Boy Betty, are you ever in the Christmas spirit - as witness your poems here on Poetry Soup. I'm finding my way around the site - not had much time of late, and only just fund an easy way to find all those I want to read, in one place! Will try to come back here again but for now I have to go out. With the weather warmed we take advantage to get out and about whilst we can. Will get back to you and your poetry later. Ciao Denis aka Rhymer.
