A Tearful Conclusion
A Tearful Conclusion
Dr. James E. Martin
A flow of tears crept from my eye
They flowed on a mission of their own.
No reason was known for why I wept
Neither fear nor sorrow was shown.
“There should be a reason”, I thought within,
It seemed odd to thus surmise.
To come to a conclusion such as this
Is neither always right nor wise.
Laughter that once had filled my soul
Now changed to a new exhibit of joy.
The moisture on my cheek I could not disguise,
There really was no reason to destroy.
Observers soon began to implore,
They worried that something was wrong.
Their worry soon amazingly fled
When suddenly I burst into a song.
The message of the song that I sang this day
Explained to the observant ear,
While resting securely in God’s loving hand
There’s never reason to fear.
Yes, tears do not always sorrow indicate.
Sometimes they say much more.
When joy overloads ones “tickle box”
There’s more than sorrow to explore.
