A Teardrop of Grey
The grey society of monotone
Cried tears that slipped down cheeks
Isolation killed many alone
It left some hungry for weeks
Ponds were formed, then rivers, then lakes
The world was still of solitude
They couldn't take any breaks
A nonexistent future, they pursued
We are the grey society of monotone
We cried tears that slipped down cheeks
Isolation killed many alone
It left us hungry for weeks
We starve not from hunger
Not from thirst or success
But from the desire
To be the one that's the best
Now we four boys
Pretend to be united
We make the loudest of noise
To fuel the fire we lighted
One of us leads
One of us rows
One of us sees
One of us knows
There's no grey society of monotone
No more tears slipping down cheeks
There is nobody in isolation, alone
We have been dead for weeks
Yet we go and keep on going
Our monotone souls
Row and keep on rowing
Tears of society controls
We try our best to succeed
But the artist's hands don't tell the truth
You see what we want and not what we need
We're the last generation, last of the youth
We are portrayed
As young and naive
The actual truth is betrayed
But you won't believe
One of us leads
One of us rows
One of us sees
One of us knows
For we are the grey society of monotone
