A Taste of Life
A taste of life for me would be an orange
The fruit is sweet and full of flavour
The peel is bitter and hard to savour
From the peel, you obtain the zest
Concentrated flavour, the very best
We eat the juicy fruit with zeal
Some of us wary of the orange peel
The peel is where the flavour's strongest
Where we savour flavour longest
Piquant, pithy and bitter-sweet
What a taste of life to eat
Sweet and sour, just like life
Carefree days and days of strife
Some lives can be bland and dry
And that is the reason I
Think that a taste of life for me
Would be an orange
