Notes About The Poem

I wrote this poem in honour to my dear friend Sheila.

Written - 8th March 2026
Sheila sadly passed away after many months of suffering,  We enjoyed many happy days together, shopping, going to film shows or concerts.

It was hard to write this poem as it brought the pain of losing Sheila back.

Sheila will always have a place in my heart, as she has had from the very start.

Dear Sheila was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Her family was her life and joy, of her friends she felt the same way too.

Sheila if you are looking down from above, I’m blowing kisses your way, with all my love.

A Swell Night out

To the theatre went me and my pal
For a concert that turned out to be swell
We listened to a fab lady singer
Who left us with memories that linger.

The singer came down the steps, off the stage
A request to the audience she made
"Would someone wish to come and sing for me"
It was me put my hand up instantly.

Agreed I’m no singer, but it was dark
I sang out loud from somewhere in my heart
It was a magical moment in time
The enchanted night was meant to be mine.

I’d had the best hours of my life ever
Unrepeatable moments to treasure
People came to dance with me in the aisle
Saying I should be on stage all the while.

It was my moment, never to repeat
'Twas sensational, to say the very least
That momentous night still stays in my head
The unrepeatable moment, so blessed, so blessed.

Dear Beryl, You’ve captured the essence of Sheila, and true friendship here, it’s not just about being there for the hard parts, but about the shared joy that "lingers" long after the stage lights go down. By writing this, you haven't just honored her; you’ve ensured that the "blessed" music of that night keeps playing. Amen! Blessings, Beryl, Daniel
