A Sunset Story

The skies burn bright,
Reds and oranges cover the sky,
What a great display of color
Before the fall of night.
A picture perfect sunset,
this is it.

The sun sinks slowly,
Revealing the light,
Beams of tangerine,
Streaks of purple
All atop a blue hue,
bold and bright..

The colors meld,
The clouds swell,
Bask in the glory,
The sky tells a story,
one that only nature can tell.

After all of the todays and tomorrows
and after all of the sorrows,
at every day’s end,
the light begins to bend,
Saturated and fiery.

As the darkness falls,
hear nature's call,
Cracks in the earth's surface,
like scars,
look to the stars
As the night begins
and watch as today ends.
