Notes About The Poem

A Sunny Day At Swofford Pond

Suddenly the osprey is there
               circling diamond-tipped waves
in search of that which eludes
us who are by nature confined~
circling higher and away
until not a jot of it remains.

This is marvelous, Chetta, and resonates so with me. How many times have I seen a bird a ways up in the sky over the sea -- and then, poof, vanished. Great! ~ Blue Skies and Calm Seas, gw
