A Summer Moment
A summer moment.
As the sun rose up the pink blossom was bright translucent glowing like in summer dreams
My mind just floating like a feather from the lightest of wings
The corn fields flashed across my eyes in colours of ambers and greens
And the darkest black soil I could feel between my toes smelled of home and bark and the streams
Soft winds blow across the hill tops as white billowy clouds dot the bluest skies that screens
My dog wagging his tail as if to say I’m happy as he smiles at me to acknowledge what a life gleans
Even the pigs in their pen are grunting with an unusual pleasant snort as they roll around in mud under the gaze of the countryside scenes
The wife is making fresh bread and the whole yard now smells of the sweetest smelling crusty cobs for which I am thankful as birds above me together preens.
