A Story Left Untold

The air is cold; the wind blows strong The rain pelts on the ground The leaves they quiver; sing sad songs On love that’s never found The dark, grey sky hangs overhead The moon its only light Like a shadow big and full of dread It casts a gloom on sight My feet are damp, my skin is wet I shiver while I breathe A pain I’m trying to forget While I sob, weep, and sniff A sorrow lingers in my eyes That struggles to escape I scream, I yell, I shout, I cry I can’t accept my fate Never can I ever trust; Have faith in naught a soul This searing pain shall ever last A story left untold.
