A Story I Know

It's just you and me
In this setting right now
The sun is shining brightly
But it's dark somehow.

We've both been in this place before
Yes I feel it in my heart
Speaking right now to you takes me
Back to the start

Of a story I know
Where the girl meets the boy
And they - fall in love
They're so full of joy

But I guess that's a myth
At least for me
Cause sorrow is my prison ward
And I wish to be free

But I've been told before
This is nothing new
But I thought things could change
For me and you

So go after that retched girl
She doesn't deserve to be
The one your heart is set on
That girl should be me!
