A Story

Once upon a time, there was a boy and a girl,
the boy fell in love and went downhill,
sixteen he made love to a nineteen-year-old woman,
then the boy turned into a man without a choice given
the nineteen-year-old girl had a baby,
that baby was turned into custody,
the boy fought tooth and nail,
but his mother won, and he set sail,
the girl disappeared within just one year,
not ready to settle down, no that was something she fears,
the baby grew up and her siblings were born,
but the woman came back and said she'd be better, oh she sworn,
The woman didn't stay no only two years went away,
came back in three and said another is on its way,
it wasn't her last but it was her second too,
and when the last baby was born she put the youngest two,
into adoption,
yes, she thinks it's better this way,
and she picked up her purse and left again
seventeen years later she reappears her firstborn is nineteen now,
came back and said the worlds falling apart all those men but no actual heart,
the baby girl learned to hate and that everyone leaves so there's not room for haste,
afraid of abandonment, afraid of the scars, afraid that mother will tear her apart, again,
But now at twenty-six,
she learns she's just as ed as her mother is,
her father is back but she's scared of him too,
and the only one she trusts is none of her family but a man that says that family isn't just your blood but the one you choose,
She's filled with hatred for her parent's choices, oh my dear can't I be nothing like you?
