A Stone Among the Gems

I tried to be something I'm not
I tried and tried,
But not a praise I got

I tried so hard to be the best
I tried harder and harder
I know tried harder then most of the rest

I did not care whether short or long
But I tried to find my own path
Alas, every single path I found was wrong

I don't know how long it will be
when I figure myself out
I can only hope that finally it will help me

I'm tired of being looked down upon
I'm tired of their skeptical remarks and looks
But when criticism ends I might be long gone

I'll live and put up with life's games
I will, I know I will
But I'll still be known as a stone among the gems.

Great poem but you are not a stone when you write a gem of a poem such as this. Well done. Lee
