A Startling Step

Through a passage of deceit
I face that which I fear greatly
Terrified and curious
Debating what it is that will make me

In this life we must guard our steps
Because that’s what leads us to our fate
But nothing happens as you desire
Possibly for ones own sake

Prepared or not I’m on my way
Life doesn’t halt for individuals
The truth isn’t always spoken
Yet sometimes hidden and not clearly visible

I realize that I have a path
Just not certain what I will encounter
Though when I reach my limit
I will meet that lady called destiny
And hopefully I wont doubt her

See my future portrait of what i am
Is only what I paint it
But only you can manage
Off of what it is that you’ve created

That single step I am required to take
Is a frightening one but one I am willing to make
