A Star's Heartbeat

Somewhere in the vast array of heaven's wonders on display so high above my head I see one star seems shining just for me. So drawn am I to this bright star that glitters beauty from afar I cannot turn away from it. White fire the Goddess Night has lit! It burns into my soul, and I am drifting up into the sky. I melt into its lustrous heat and lo! I hear a star's heartbeat! March 22, 2020 For Chantelle Anne Cooke's A Star's Heartbeat Poetry Contest
