A Spiritual Journey
This is the long and winding path taken
longing for my very soul to awaken,
biblical words and sayings
the spirit's guide to praying
when the history of the past
clings to the God of whom I ask
Is this it, is this all there is,
please enlighten the inner soul that lives?
One foot on the revolving earth
struggling to find my worth
heart and mind on the skies
realizing in the end, bodies all die.
Who am I and where am I going,
desperate to escape this unknowing
speak Lord, speak loud and clear
my soul is forever in doubt and fear.
Is that a light in the distance I see?
the answer to all that is me -
come to me Lord, fill my heart and my soul
walking in life's journey makes me whole.
