A Special Secret Place
there is a secret place
where I yearn to hide
a special secret place
where imaginings reside
in a world of make-believe
fantasies abound
I live, dream and hope to see
the best of life around
morals rule, angels are alive
bibles are in print
this friendly place, a happy home
where all that could be is
I prefer to dream of love
things and stuff quite off-the-wall
where life goes on and heaven waits
for me to make the call
here inside this empty room
illusions must abide
sterile walls, a hollow tomb
with dreams that now have died
this barren heart with vacant thoughts
dreams that can’t come true
are all I have, because I had
but now I don’t have you
