Notes About The Poem

I hope your Christmas dinner was as good as ours. We still have half left for today

A Special Christmas Dinner

A Special Christmas Dinner
By Franklin Price

This year we spent our Christmas
At home and all alone
Said hello to family and friends
On Facebook and the phone

Had planned our Christmas dinner
With some ham and things to eat
Was not hard for us to fix it
Was no complicated feat

For dessert we bought a cherry pie
Forwent the a la mode
With all the other fixin's
I was sure to be a toad

For lunch we had some Lipton's Soup
To take off a little chill
It warmed us for the afternoon
It surely filled the bill

A little later on
As the sun set in the west
We talked about our dinner
And our culinary test

That's when we both decided
That to leave room for the pie
That it would be our dinner
And here's the reason why

After it was eaten
There was a little room for more
And if we wanted exercise
We could still fit through the door
