A Somewhat Abashed Writer Reads From His Works
To assume the
stage
takes a lot of nerve
To get up in front of a
crowd
And read what you have
written
is something which requires
a little "chutzpah"
But if the time is right
It's a good thing to do
Let the light hidden
in the words
Shine on the awaiting public
You only have a little time
here anyway
So give them your perspective
Your outlook on things
If the time is right
and if the ears
are perceptive
then you will
see subtle changes
The future is an unknown quantity
But if we share - if we share
then we will see
that meaning comes through
and the small light kindled
may light the way
to the next dawn
